Day 3: Love as a Daily Choice

Reading: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Devotional: Notice that every description of love in this passage is an action, not an emotion. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love forgives. Love endures. None of these are feelings that simply wash over us. They are choices we make, often when we least feel like making them. Culture tells us love is something we fall into and fall out of. Scripture tells us love is something we practice, even on the hard days, especially on the hard days. Wherever you find it most difficult to love today -- in your marriage, your friendships, your family -- that is precisely where God is calling you to choose love anyway.
